Lake Country Satellite has been serving the “Lake Country” since 1999. Originally when we started our company, DISH TV was our primary product. Then we added our first internet product, Starband and later Hughes Net, then Wild Blue and Dish Net. As the years progressed and technologies have changed, we’ve changed with them.
In 2012 Lake Country Satellite launched a new service from ViaSat called Exede High Speed Internet. From the onset, David Varner, President of Lake Country Satellite knew that this new Exede Internet was the fastest internet for folks here on Buggs Island Lake in Clarksville, VA and the surrounding communities.
Varner began marketing this new Exede High Speed Internet service and because of it’s speed and reliability he eventually dropped all the other lines and exclusively sold Exede. In just a few short months Lake Country Satellite became the first Elite Dealer in the region. And for 4 years Lake Country Satellite was the #1 Exede Dealer on the East Coast and ranked in the top 10 nationwide.
In 2013 David Varner was asked to be on the first inaugural Dealer Advisory Council to ViaSat where he helped influence new ideas and changes to help make the Exede Dealer Program and product better for their dealers and customers. Varner was voted the most influential Exede Dealer and asked to serve a second term on the Council. The Dealer Advisory Council is made up of 8 of the best dealers nationwide who have run their dealership well by keeping their customers satisfied and being a leader in their communities through technology.
Before Exede, folks here in “Lake Country” on the Virginia side, which covers, Clarksville, Red Oak, Buffalo Junction, Nelson, Virgilina, Boydton, Finchley, Skipwith, Chase City, South Hill, Baskerville, LaCrosse, Bracey, Gasburg, and Valentines, did not have many viable options for high speed internet. Today, Lake Country Satellite is able to deliver high speed internet to these communities and beyond with Exede High Speed Internet.
Because of the success and popularity of Exede, Lake Country Satellite now goes beyond the Kerr Lake Reservoir to serve clients within a 30 mile radius of their new headquarters in Boydton, VA. Here are some of the additional places they have customers in Virginia. Wylliesburg, Fort Mitchell, Drakes Branch, Charlotte Court House, Phenix, Brookneal, Nathalie, Clover, Scottsburg, South Boston, Halifax, Crystal Hill, Keysville, Farmville, Meherrin, Green Bay, Lawrenceville, Emporia, Kenbridge, Victoria, Alberta, Rawlings, McKenney, White Plains, and Valentines all now have access to high speed internet through Viasat and Lake Country Satellite.
On the North Carolina side, we have been busy as well serving communities such as Townsville, Bullock, Stovall, Lewis, Oxford, Henderson, Roxboro, Providence, Durham, Creedmore, Youngsville, Franklinton, Kitrell, Middleburg, Norilina, Ridgeway, Grassy Creek, and so many more now also have access to high speed internet through Lake Country Satellite and award winning Viasat Internet.

In 2017 Lake Country Internet, LLC was formed to serve as our new name. We are all about technology and evolving with the change. We have launched our own wireless internet services in Mecklenburg County in part to a grant from Microsoft. Our commitment is to give back to our communities by providing a limited WiFi hot spot in the communities we serve. As our service grows to new areas, we will install more community WiFi hot spots.
Today we have a robust AirFiber Wireless network that we have built from the ground up. We are family owned and operated now for 2 generations. We look forward to serving your family also for generations to come.

We have sold many services over the years including DISH and DIRECT. Because the technology has changed so drastically over the years, and is making the transition to a streaming platform, we have made the decision to drop all our TV lines. This allows us to invest more time and money into making our AirFiber Wireless service all you need. By keeping the focus on the quality of our wireless network, our service is fast and reliable enough to power all the devices in an average home. This saves you money!
